The word parola comes from the Filipino language, and my family’s native tongue, Tagalog. It means “lighthouse.”

When I think of the process of therapy, of healing, I think of it as a journey. Maybe your destination is to go back home - to reconnect to yourself, to your partner(s). Or maybe you want to venture to new, unchartered territory and do something different than what you’ve always known and done.

Therapy can be that space - the lighthouse that helps guide you, and illuminates the path on your journey to where you want to be.
